The following pieces are going to be starched and then hung together as a collaborative 3-dimensional piece. I will take a picture when they are all starched and displayed. The students drew with crayola markers on gigantic coffee filters and then sprayed them with water to create a tie-dye effect. They thought it was like magic!
If you have art club on Halloween then you kind of have to do something that relates! We listened to the ghostbusters song that day, and I showed the kids how to make a spider with pipecleaners and a watercolor crayon resist web. I told the students if they wanted to do something other than the web that they could, but everyone wanted to make s spider web. The project is pictured below. The k-2 and 3-5 art clubs both created various things out of clay a few weeks ago and are now glazing theirs works. Clay pendants, ornaments, snowmen, and various other types of sculptures were made. They will be completely finished and fired by the last week of art club.
